Obituary for Susan Olivia "Suzy" Garcia (Trujillo)

Suzy Olivia Garcia, 64, lost her battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2014 while surrounded by her loving family. Suzy was born May 16, 1949 in Pueblo, Colorado, daughter of Modesto and Helen Trujillo. She was raised in Pueblo, as the youngest of six brothers and sisters.
Suzy graduated from Pueblo County High in 1967. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael Garcia Sr. from Pueblo. They were blessed with three children, Michael Garcia Jr. (Shauna), Andrew Garcia (Chelsea), and Danae Garcia. They also have seven grandchildren, all of whom they are very proud and love dearly. There was truly much love abounding in her home and she always welcomed everyone and made you feel special.
While raising her family, she also worked for the Boise School District and her hobbies included cake decorating and collecting owls. She also served as a volunteer for her church which included working at the food bank. Suzy was full of love and charity to all people. Even to the end, she was always on the go running errands for anyone who called upon her and put everyone before herself as she lived to help and serve others. We constantly hear from others what a selfless person she was and how she made a positive difference in touching everyone's lives. Suzy's greatest love was her husband, children, and grandchildren. She was a loving and dedicated wife and loved to frequently travel for a weekend getaway with her husband to Jackpot. Her children could not have asked for a more patient, loving, instructive Mother. The world is definitely a better place because Suzy was here.
Suzy is survived by her husband, three children, seven grandchildren, one brother, and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
A Rosary/Vigil will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St. Mark's Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at St. Mark's Catholic Church. There will be a gathering for family and friends following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Luke's MSTI.
